Project Spotlight: Giorgetti

The Giorgetti project is the first Giorgetti-branded condominium in the world. Giorgetti, one of the world’s finest cabinet and furniture makers, was founded more than 100 years ago in Meda, a city in northern Italy known as a hub for furniture production.

This project is the epitome of first-class. The building includes 32 units ranging from 2,700 SF to 6,600 SF. Each unit has 10-12 foot ceilings, Gaggenau appliances, Giorgetti cabinetry fabricated in Italy, quartz countertops, Listone Giordano hardwood flooring, and double-sided or Da Vinci fireplaces. Every residence has a balcony ranging from 500 SF to 2,000 SF, all with an outdoor kitchen, and in many cases, an outdoor fireplace. The common area amenities include a fitness center, a resistance pool, a cold water plunge pool, hot tub, pet wash, full service concierge, and richly landscaped grounds.

Innovation in Construction

Giorgetti has many innovative features. All of the wood floors in the entire building are at least 180 years old. The exterior includes contemporary glass, stucco, and masonry inspired by Giorgetti’s origami-style buffet table. Giorgetti-designed furniture adorns the lobby and common areas with Giorgetti’s special line of kitchen and bathroom cabinets incorporated inside the units.

Located on Steel Street, adjacent to Kirby Drive, this project was on a very tight site. Heritage Oak trees lined the perimeter of the project and per City of Houston regulations, had to be preserved. The E.E. Reed team installed protection around each tree and consulted with an urban forester. Careful coordination and planning was needed to make sure these beautiful trees were not harmed and our vigilant construction management team ensured that all of the trees were safe and secure!

Giorgetti is a very unique project, in large part due to the subtle details throughout the building and the meticulous attention to detail provided by the project team. One subtle detail a keen observer will note is that the masonry coursing on the south elevation actually spells out “Giorgetti” in binary code!

A Job Well Done

This project was an extraordinary success and a great example of exceptional teamwork! Completed on time, this project is quickly becoming a model for the world of international style. Plans are already in the works for more Giorgetti buildings in some of the most stylish cities in the world including Paris, New York, and London!

The Giorgetti project is truly unique. The difference with Giorgetti is that they are a lifestyle brand. Giorgetti has curated the space in which the residents live and saturate their brand into the space. Being one of the first truly branded residential buildings anywhere – this project is a true example of collaboration and innovation. E.E. Reed was thrilled to be part of such a milestone project in the heart of Houston!

Giorgetti was named Project of the Year (1st Place) in the Residential Category by the Associated Builders & Contractors Houston chapter and won an Eagle Award (1st Place) at the National Competition. Congratulations to the project team on a job well done!
